Privacy Policy
Home Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Butlington does with information when you read butlingtonfeedback.com, when you use a form on these pages, and when you email the studio about a home improvement. We improve kitchens, baths, paint, floors, stairs, and outdoor rooms. We do not publish a telephone number or a street address. The contact point named in this policy is hello@butlingtonfeedback.com.
Please read this with the terms of service. If a sentence here and a sentence there both touch the same topic, they are meant to be read together. We wrote them in plain language because a household should not need a specialist to understand what happens to an email about a kitchen.
1. Who this policy is for
It is for visitors to this website, people who request a quote or join a mailing list, clients whose rooms we improve, and anyone who writes to the studio inbox. It is not a policy for employees or for specialist trades, who receive separate instructions when they work with us.
2. The short version
- This website is a static brochure. Its forms check what you type and then show a confirmation on the page.
- Those forms do not, by themselves, deliver your words to our inbox or add you to a mailing list.
- If you want us to receive a message, send it by email to hello@butlingtonfeedback.com.
- Email you send us is used to answer you, to plan a room, and to keep a project record.
- We do not sell personal information. We do not buy marketing lists.
3. Information you may give us by email
When you write to the studio you choose what to include. For a useful first note we ask for your name, an email address, the kind of room, and a description of the trouble. Please do not send a street address, a telephone number, or photographs of identity documents in a first message. We will ask for visiting details only if we agree that a measure should happen, and we will ask for them by email.
Later in a project you may send selections, photographs of the existing room, approvals, and questions about care. Those messages can include details about how you live: when you cook, who uses a bath, what must stay. We treat that as project information, not as material for advertising. We keep it so the people named on your outline can do the work you approved.
4. Forms on this website
The quote form, the testimonial form, the subscribe form, the unsubscribe form, and the footer email field run in your browser. They require a properly shaped email address and, where the page asks for it, a name and a description of the work. If the check passes, the page shows a thank-you line and hides the form. Nothing in that step opens a connection that delivers the form to Butlington.
That design is deliberate. It lets you see how a request is shaped without handing the page a mailbox. It also means the thank-you line is not proof that a person has read your note. If you need an answer, email hello@butlingtonfeedback.com and keep a copy of what you sent.
Please do not type passwords, payment card numbers, government identifiers, or health information into any form on this site. We do not ask for them and we do not want them in a browser form. Payment instructions, when a project exists, are sent inside the email thread for that project and are not collected on these pages.
5. Information your browser handles automatically
Like most websites, the pages you open may be recorded in your own browser history. Your browser may also cache images so they load faster on a second visit. This site does not set its own tracking cookies, does not run an advertising pixel, and does not embed a third-party analytics script. We therefore do not receive a dashboard of your clicks.
If you follow a share link to a social network, that network receives the fact that you chose to share our address, under its own rules. We do not receive your social profile from that click. Fonts on these pages are requested from a Google Fonts address so the headings match the design. That request is a connection your browser makes to Google’s font service, which has its own privacy policy. If you prefer not to make that connection, your browser’s tracking protections or a font-blocking extension will simply show a fallback typeface. The words of the site remain available.
6. Photographs
Project photographs on this website show rooms, materials, and occasionally a person at work. They are used to explain approach and finish. If you are a client, we will not publish your name beside a finished room, or a photograph that shows your face or a readable house number, unless you agree in a separate email. You may refuse portfolio use before the walkthrough, as the terms of service describe.
Photographs you send us of your own rooms are used to understand the work. We do not post those images on this website unless you have said we may. We may keep them in the project thread so a question six months later can be answered without asking you to photograph the same corner again.
7. How we use email you actually send
When a message reaches hello@butlingtonfeedback.com we use it to:
- decide whether the work is something we can do well;
- ask the next useful question;
- prepare an outline, a material list, and a sequence;
- schedule a measure or a work day;
- record approvals, changes, and payments named in the outline;
- carry out warranty visits during the period named in the terms;
- send care notes if you have asked to be on the list and have not asked to leave.
We do not use your project thread to advertise unrelated products. A note about grout care after a bath we built is part of the work. A message about a product we do not install is not.
8. The mailing list
Seasonal notes cover practical care: when to look at exterior wood, how to clean a named sheen of paint, when a deck fastener deserves a glance. Joining that list requires an email from you that asks to join, not merely a successful check of the form on this website. Until that email arrives and we confirm, you are not on the list.
You may leave the list at any time by writing “unsubscribe” to hello@butlingtonfeedback.com from the address that receives the notes. The unsubscribe page on this site shows you the shape of that request and checks the address format. As with the other forms, the page itself does not edit a list. We stop sending notes when we receive the email. Transactional messages about an active project — scheduling, approvals, a warranty visit — are not marketing, and leaving the list does not close an open project.
9. Who else may see project information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share only what a task needs, and only with people tied to your outline:
- the Butlington people named on the work, so they can build what you approved;
- a specialist trade, such as a tile setter or an electrician, who receives the drawings and the access window, not your whole inbox history;
- a supplier, when an order must carry a delivery name you have approved for that delivery;
- a professional adviser if a dispute or a legal duty requires it;
- a party you ask us in writing to copy.
Suppliers receive specifications, not stories about your household. If a maker needs a site contact on a delivery day, we will agree that detail with you first rather than inventing one.
10. How long we keep a thread
Inquiry emails that do not become a project are kept long enough to answer you and to avoid asking you to repeat yourself if you write again within the same season. After that, we delete or archive them according to the studio’s ordinary mailbox housekeeping.
Project threads are kept for the warranty period and for a reasonable time after it, because a question about a sheen, a hinge, or a tile dye lot is easier to answer from the record than from memory. Drawings and material lists are part of that record. You may ask us what we still hold about a finished project, and you may ask us to delete notes that we are not required to keep for warranty, accounting, or a live disagreement. We will tell you if something must stay, and why.
11. Security
Email is a convenient channel and it is not a locked cabinet. Do not send payment card numbers or identity documents to the studio inbox. We ask our people to use the project thread rather than personal mailboxes, to avoid forwarding a household’s notes to anyone outside the outline, and to strip attachments from a reply that does not need them. No method of sending mail is perfect. If we ever believe a project thread has been exposed, we will write to the address we hold for that project and say what happened and what we are doing.
12. Children
Our work is for households, and the website is written for adults who can approve a scope. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has written to us, tell us and we will delete the message unless a parent asks us to keep it as part of a project the parent owns.
13. Links that leave this site
Share buttons open a social network or your own mail program. Those services are not Butlington. Their pages have their own policies. A link is not an endorsement of every practice of that service. We choose the share actions so you can point someone at our home page without copying a long address.
14. Your choices
- You may refuse to send an address or a photograph. Some visits cannot be scheduled without a way to find the house, and we will say so plainly.
- You may ask for a copy of the outline and the material list we hold.
- You may correct a name or an email address by writing from the old address or by confirming both.
- You may leave the mailing list, as section 8 describes.
- You may refuse portfolio photographs of your finished rooms.
- You may ask us to delete inquiry mail that did not become a project.
Write these requests to hello@butlingtonfeedback.com. We may ask you to confirm that the address is yours before we change or delete a thread, so that a stranger cannot erase your record.
15. What we do not do
We do not run this website as a shop. We do not store card numbers here. We do not use facial recognition. We do not build a profile of your browsing to sell to anyone. We do not ask for more household detail than the room requires. A bath does not need your employment history. A paint plan does not need a copy of a lease, unless you tell us your building requires a permission letter, in which case you may send that letter when you are ready.
16. Changes to this policy
If we change how the website works — for example, if a future version of a form actually delivers email — we will change this policy first and we will move the date below. We will not quietly begin collecting information the current pages do not collect. An active project keeps the privacy promises that were in place when you approved the outline, unless a change gives you more protection, in which case we will apply the clearer rule.
17. How to reach us about privacy
Privacy questions, correction requests, and deletion requests go to hello@butlingtonfeedback.com with the subject “Privacy.” Include the email address you used with us. We will reply to that address. There is no telephone line and no published street address for these requests. Email is the channel this policy recognizes.
